Nestle Milo Basketball Championships Final: Yejide, St. Jude clash as Niger play Abuja

Lagos, June 20, 2017 (NAN) Yejide Grammar School, Oyo, has defeated Government Secondary School, Gboko, Benue 36-24 with in its impressive performance to qualify for the final of the ongoing Nestle Milo Secondary School Championship.

Also, St. Jude Girls Secondary School, Amarata, Bayelsa, reached the final of the competition having thumped defending champions, Wesley Girls Secondary School, Lagos 37-23.

St. Jude will clash in the final with Yejide which it had overpowered in their group game to determine the 2017 champions of the girls’ category.

Niger State Secondary School, Minna, played hard to overcome hard fighting 2012 champions St. Augustine’s Seminary, Ezzamgbo, Ebonyi, 47-32 in the semi-final to book a spot in the final.

The boys from Niger will engage Government Secondary School, Karu, Abuja which defeated Greater Tomorrow Secondary School, Ondo, 31-30 in a keenly contested match.

The Abuja boys were runners-up in the 2016 edition and will have to work extra hard against the Niger boys in an all northern final.

The 2017 edition which began on June 17 at the Indoor sports Hall of the National Stadium, Lagos will round off on June 21 where the champions will be unveiled. (NAN)
