Ilorin, June 12, 2017 (NAN) The Cherubim and Seraphim  Movement Church in  Ilorin has  empowered no fewer than 45 members of the church with items worth N7 million.

The News Agency of  Nigeria (NAN) reports that the items were presented by Oluwole Foundation owned by a church member.

The General Secretary of the foundation, Pastor Ademola Popoola, said at the presentation in Ilorin that  the beneficiaries were carefully selected.

” Every year, we empower a minimum of 45 people, we thank God we are able to sustain this.

“We have been able to take 225 people out of poverty since the past five years.

“We have seen their lives changed and they have also been of help to other people while we monitor  their development.

“People apply and when they do, we interview them before they are considered for  empowerment.

“We carefully look at the level of an applicant’s  challenge  because there are some people who want to benefit without actually having a pressing need,” said Popoola.

Items presented included sewing and grinding machines, deep freezers, generating set, motorcycle and  ovens.

According to Popoola,  the church also awards  scholarship to over 200 students annually. (NAN)
