Ilorin, June 6, 2017 (NAN) Federal Polytechnic Offa, College of Education Oro and Kwara State Polytechnic on Tuesday in Ilorin qualified for the semi-finals of the qualifiers for the forthcoming JAMB/Tertiary Institutions football championship.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the qualifiers are to select the two institutions to represent Kwara state in the championship.

Federal Polytechnic Offa whitewashed Muideen College of Education 5-0 in the second quarter-final match, while College of Education Oro also beat Crown Hill University 5-0.

In another game played in the qualifiers at the Kwara Stadium Complex, Kwara State Polytechnic defeated College of Education Ilorin 2-0.

NAN reports that the two semi-final matches will hold on Wednesday, from 10 a.m.

In one of the matches, Kwara State Polytechnic will take on Federal Polytechnic Offa at the Main Bowl of the Stadium Complex.

College of Education Oro will face Kwara State University (KWASU) at the Kwara Football Academy pitch in the other match.

KWASU had qualified for the semi-finals without kicking a ball, following the withdrawal of Al-Hikma University.

Winners of the semi-final matches will qualify for the main competition scheduled for July.

NAN reports that 16 institutions will play in the finals in Ilorin from July 23 to July 30, with four participants each coming from NUGA, NIPOGA and NICEGA.

Innovative Entrepreneur Initiative (IEI) and Kwara State will produce two qualifiers each to complete the line-up.(NAN)
