“I am quite happy to be here to celebrate the children’s day with you all, I love you children.

Also speaking, Mrs Modupe Aleshinloye, the Director on school Child Affair, Association for the Eradication of Corruption in Nigeria urged the children to join in the fight against corruption to build bright future for themselves.

She admonished the children to shun cultism in all its ramifications and embrace their culture as it was their identity.

“Children, you must be law abiding, develop the fear of God and you will make it in life.

“Don’t welcome cultism and corruption but respect and obey your parents, teachers and honour the elderly, ” she said.

Mrs Funmiluyi Ade, the coordinator of the 2017 children’s day, commended the children and the dignitaries for their presence.
Ade said that she had challenges in convincing schools to bring their children to the museum to celebrate the children’s day and also getting sponsors.

“It was hell convincing schools to come here for the children’s day and getting sponsors, I really appreciate MTN and Actress Iyabo Lawani for the gifts.

“I am glad today because this year’s celebration is better than 2016, we are able to get more sponsors and more schools participated,’’ she said.

Highlight of the event was a match pass by pupils from 15 schools dressed in indigenous attires, depicting the different ethnic tribes in Nigeria, while five schools participated in quiz competition and eight schools had cooking competitions. (NAN)
