Kano, May 24, 2017 (NAN) Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State on Wednesday assured prospective investors of adequate support and environment conducive for the successful conduct of their businesses.

He gave the assurance at the closing ceremony of second Economic and Investment Summit at the Government House Kano.

The summit was organised by the government as part of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the creation of the state.

He said the current administration, under his leadership, was also committed to providing investors the necessary support and cooperation to enable them to invest in the state.

According to him, the state government will not tolerate bureaucracy, sabotage or diversion by the civil servants in the course of implementing the summit’s recommendations.

He warned that any civil servant found wanting or sabotaging the government’s effort on the process of implementation, would be appropriately dealt with.

“If there is diversion or sabotage in the process of implementation, come to the government or report to me for necessary action,” he said.

He disclosed that the government would henceforth make the Economic and Investment Summit an annual event to enable stakeholders to share ideas on how to move the state forward.

He commended participants for taking their time to partake in the two-day programme.

The summit, which was attended by prominent personalities from within and outside the state, had the theme: “Transforming the Kano Economy: Turning Challenges into Opportunities.” (NAN)
