Lagos, May 22, 2017 (NAN) The Business Law Section of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA-SBL) on Monday said it would promote the welfare of young lawyers as part of its capacity building programme.
Chairman of the Section, Mr Olumide Akapata, said that the forthcoming NBA-SBL 11th Annual Business Law Conference would give prime of place to young and upcoming lawyers in the profession.
The conference, billed to hold in Lagos from June 18 to June 20, is themed: “Law and the Changing Face of Legal Practice.”
Akpata said that the conference would address the global evolution of legal practice, innovative trends as well as the future of the profession.
He said that although the numerical strength of graduating law students outweighed employment, NBA-SBL would afford young lawyers the requisite training needed to be marketable.
Also speaking on the conference, Mrs Olubunmi Fayokun, said that NBA-SBL would visit Nigerian Law schools to interface with law students and introduce them to certain elements of law practice.
According to her, this year’s conference focuses on young lawyers to keep them abreast of legal discourse.
She urged young lawyers to be goal-oriented and endeavour to make themselves marketable.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the NBA-SBL conference would be divided into nine sessions with discussants expected from reputable law firms across the country. (NAN)
