Abuja, May 21, 2017 (NAN) The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy morning over the Central States of the Country on Monday with chances of localised thunderstorms over Mambila plateau, Kaduna, Minna and environs.
NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office on Sunday in Abuja also predicted day and night temperatures of 27 to 34 and 16 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.
It added that localised thunderstorms would prevail around Bauchi, Jos, Abuja, and Lafia, parts of Yola, the Mambila plateau and environs in the afternoon and evening hours.
The agency predicted cloudy morning over the southern states and light showers over Lagos and environs with day and night temperatures of 30 to 33 and 20 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.
It also predicted chances of Localised thunderstorms over Akure, Osogbo, Ijebu-ode, Ado-Ekiti, Benin, Calabar, Eket, Owerri, Umuahia and Portharcourt in the afternoon and evening hours.
According to NiMet, northern states will experience cloudy condition with intervals of sunshine in the morning and localized thunderstorms around southern Sokoto and Yelwa axis during the afternoon and evening hours.
“The region will have day and night temperatures of 36 to 39 and 24 to 26 degrees Celsius respectively.
“ The country is still dominantly overlain with moist winds favorable for isolated rainfall activities in the next 24hours,’’ NiMet predicted. (NAN)
