Katsina Govt approves release of N5.1bn gratuities

Katsina, May 17, 2017(NAN) The Katsina State Government has approved the release of N5.1 billion for the payment of gratuities.
The state Commissioner of Justice, Mr Ahmed El-marzuq made the disclosure on Wednesday at a press briefing on the outcome of the State Executive Council meeting.
He said that 2,477 retirees would receive their gratuities.
According to him, the beneficiaries were retirees from the state service, local councils and Local Education Authorities.
El-marzuq said that the government would soon process another N1.9 billion for the payment of more retirees.
Also, the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Halimatu Idris said the executive council had endorsed government plan to recruit 1,933 teachers for primary and secondary schools.
She said that the recruitment would be conducted by state Teachers Service Board, State Universal Education Board, and Science and Technical Education Board.
The commissioner said that the council had approved the appointment of Alhaji Umaru Audi as Chairman of the State Teachers Service Board (TSB). (NAN)
