Abuja, May 13, 2017 (NAN) Olatunde Oduwole, the national scrabble champion on Saturday said that winning the 2017 title may pose serious challenges because of the calibre of participants.
Oduwole told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja that winning the title again would be by the grace of God.
“I wish to really win the title but it is a difficult task to come by because this is Nigeria scrabble and we are blessed with lots of players.
“I will continue to strive harder and if it comes my way, Glory be to God. It is a very big task to come by, but hopefully it is very possible for me to be able to defend it.
“When I consider the calibre of players around in the tournament and they are not lacking behind, they have also worked hard so we are more like contemporaries.
“I need the grace of God to win. It is not by my own power because this game of scrabble requires a lot of factors.
“You have to work hard by reading and know how to play the game on board.
“Show all sense of technicalities and at the same time you need what I called the grace of God to be able to surpass your opponent, otherwise you will be surprised,” he said. (NAN)
