Ilorin, May 12, 2017 (NAN) An Islamic cleric, Alhaji Mubarak Ahmed, has called on Muslims to use the coming Holy Month of Ramadan to pray for continued peace in the country.
Ahmed, who is also the Chief Imam of Aduragba Mosque, Olunlade Area, Ilorin, made the call on Friday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
The cleric said the only divine solution to Nigeria’s problems is prayer, saying that prayer can do all things and make a nation great.
“As the holy month of Ramadan fast approaches, we Muslims must be ready to pray for peace to reign and as well pray for Allah’s intervention to restore the lost glory of this great nation.
“Nigerians must be fervent in their prayers and be hopeful that one day, this country will be peaceful and become exemplary nation to other nations,” the cleric added.
Ahmed also appealed to Muslims to use the holy month to pray vigorously for peaceful coexistence among different ethnic nationalities in the country.
He admonished all Muslims to act according to the tenets of Holy Qur’an and Hadith which commanded them to have the love of their country at heart in order to promote the beautiful virtues of Islam.
“Islam is a religion of peace and it is stated in the Holy Qur’an and Hadith that none of you are real Muslims until you love others as you love yourselves.
“With peace and love for one another, we can achieve great things as a nation,” the Imam said. (NAN)
