Abuja April 26, 2017 (NAN) An Abuja based NGO, “Kokun Foundation’’ on Wednesday, says it feeds no fewer than 300 Internally Displaced Persons in Durumi Area of the FCT.
Adepeju Olukokun, the Head of the foundation, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja that the NGO decided to feed the IDPs because food was the most essential needs of man.

Olukokun said he was inspired to come up with the idea of feeding people as part of his responsibility to meet the need of people who are distressed.

He further said the major challenge facing the group now to ensure that the resources gathered by members for the exercise meet the need of the less privileged.

“Our daily mission is to put food on the table of the less privileged among us in the camp.

“There are people who are starving to death daily, we don’t truly understand how blessed we are to feed the poor and help people who are in need.“Feeding the needy is part of service to God and to humanity,’’ he said.
“We only see the homeless, but there are a great number of people struggling to survive.

“This is because there are a lot of people who do not have enough money to put adequate food on their table.

‘’We must find a solution to this ever-increasing problem.

Olukokun said the group also rendered financial assistance to people who are struggling to eke living, financially.
‘’We also visit prisons and help inmates and help in paying hospital bills for indigent patients.’’
He urged other Nigerians with adequate resources to assist the less privileged in the country, to alleviate their suffering.(NAN)
