Lapai, (Niger) April 22, 2017 (NAN) Dr Samuel Ibrahim, a lecturer in Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, has urged Nigerians to be more environmental friendly.

‎

‎Ibrahim, an expert in Domestic Water Supply at the Department of Geography and Regional Planning, made the call on Saturday in Lapai in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

‎

He spoke on the sidelines of the 2017 World Earth Day with its ‎theme: “Environmental and Climate Literacy.”
Ibrahim said that a lot of sensitisation ‎still needed to be done to educate the people on the impact and effect of abusing the environment.

‎

“People should form the habit of knowing how to manage every waste they generate be it solid, liquid or gas.

‎
“Every body existing should have the consciousness of protecting the environment because good health depends on the environment” he said.
Ibrahim said that whatever we give to the environment will return to us as life is a vicious circle. ‎
“All and sundry should take it upon themselves to protect the environment for we do not have another, a clean environment is essential for healthy living,” he said.
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that World Earth Day is an annual event marked every April 22 to celebrate the environment and raise public awareness about pollution and its negative impacts. (NAN)
