Benin, April 21, 2017 (NAN) Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu of Edo has urged sports enthusiasts to turn out en masse to cheer Bendel Insurance Football Club to victory as they tackle Warri Wolves in Benin
This is contained in a press statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Musa Ebomhiana in Benin on Friday.
The Nigeria National League match between Bendel Insurance and Warri Wolves is expected to kick-off at 4 p.m, at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Saturday.
He appealed to the fans to give their total support to the state owned club while playing against “stubborn Warri Wolves.’’
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that the Benin based club had forced Bayelsa Utd to a 1-1 draw at home in the match day 8 encounter.
NAN reports that Insurers had also recorded similar result in their previous game against AS Racine of Lagos at home.
The deputy governor said another home draw is not a good result for a club that needs promotion to the Nigeria Professional League. (NAN)
