Dutse, April 20, 2017 (NAN) Dr Muhammad Sagagi, the Deputy Chairman, Jigawa Investment Promotion Agency (JigawaInvest), on Thursday said that the agency had attracted no less than 40 substantial investments into the state since 2013.
Sagagi told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse that though not all the 40 investments had been actualised, they were all in the pipeline.
“All the 40 projects are in the pipeline.
“They are big investments, like sugar project in Gagarawa, the rice project in Kafin Hausa, tomato project in Taura and Ringim Local Government Areas and the sugar project in Kaugama.
“We have quite a number of them; we also have the solar project that is being undertaken in Dutse and Hadejia Local Government Areas,’’ he said.
The deputy chairman said that JigawaInvest was an agency set up in 2013 by the state government to promote and facilitate investments, particularly large-scale ones.
“JigawaInvest is playing its part; we are there to promote investments and to attract people to come and invest in Jigawa.
“Though set up in 2013, but it has successfully attracted 40 investments which are in the pipeline,’’ Sagagi said.
He said that the investors were both local and foreign investors, adding that the state was open for more investors. (NAN)
