Forum mobilises young, aspiring professionals in Kano

Kano, April 18, 2017 (NAN) The Kano Professionals’ Forum says it will conduct a one-day mentoring programme for young and aspiring professionals in the state.
The Chairman, Organising Committee of the forum, Mr Ibrahim Khaleel, told newsmen in Kano on Tuesday that the theme of the event is “Mentoring the young and aspiring professionals in Kano’’.
Khaleel said that the event was slated for Saturday, April 22.
According to him, the forum was formed by the past and present national presidents of professional associations from Kano state.
The forum was aimed at mentoring university students, graduates as well as professionals that have yet to appreciate the value of their respective professions.
“In addition, the aim is to speak to government at state and national levels on professional and developmental issues that affect communities,’’ he said.
Khaleel said the interested professionals would be sourced from the professional associations and universities, including the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Nigerian Medical Association, Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria and Nigerian Bar Association.
According to him, the former Minister of National Planning, Dr Shamsudeen Usman, is expected to be among the resource persons.
“The resource persons are expected to make presentations on the position of Kano professionals in the Nigerian professionals landscape.
“Arc. Ibrahim Haruna will make a presentation on who is a professional in addition to another paper to be presented by A.B. Mahmoud (SAN) on how to reach the pinnacle of one’s profession,’’ Khaleel said.
He said there would also be a syndicate session after the plenary, while a communique was expected to be presented by Prof. Munzali Jibril, who would be the Chairman of the Communique Committee. (NAN)
