Dutse, April 18, 2017 (NAN) The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has organised a one-day train-the-trainer programme for 135 facilitators to train the state’s intending pilgrims for the 2017 Hajj.
The board’s Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Ibrahim Hasheem, made this known to newsmen in Dutse on Tuesday.
Hasheem said that five facilitators – three males and two females – were selected from each of the 27 local government areas of the state for the exercise.
He said that the facilitators would in turn train intending pilgrims at designated centres across the state.
The spokesperson said that the gesture was to ensure proper training of intending pilgrims on the tenets of Muslim pilgrimage.
“They are mandated to train prospective pilgrims on obligations, tenets and cardinal principles of Hajj.
“The board will supervise the exercise in order to ensure that each prospective pilgrim participates in the exercise,” he said.
According to him, proper education of pilgrims will prepare them to conduct the Hajj in accordance with the teachings of Islam and be good ambassadors of the country.
Hasheem said that competent resource persons were engaged to train the facilitators.
He advised intending pilgrims to participate in the training.
The News Agency Nigeria reports that the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria allocated 2,677 seats to the state for the 2017 pilgrimage. (NAN)
