Forum registers 1,000 organisations in Jigawa

Dutse, April 15, 2017 (NAN) The Jigawa Civil Society Forum says it has registered 1,000 Community Based /Civil Society Organisations in the State since November 2016 for better coordination.

The President of the forum, Mr Musbahu Basirka, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Dutse on Saturday that the gesture was aimed at enhancing unity and cooperation among the organisations in the state.

Basirka explained that such cooperation would also promote good governance.

According to him, having data of the organisations would also to enhance collaboration among them in ensuring accountability, transparency and good governance.

“The organisations will also be able to track their annual budget for effective implementation.’’

According to him, the forum is working to sensitise the organisationsvin the areas of health, education, agriculture and provision of water.

“The forum is monitoring various projects being executed by the state government, including budget tracking and implementation.

“It is ready to accept any advice that will move the organisations forward’’, he said. (NAN) MNB/AIB/IEA
