Abuja, April 12, 2017 (NAN) A Lugbe Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, on Wednesday granted bail in the sum of N50,000 to a 21-year-old motorcycle rider, Abdulkareem Zubairu, docked for alleged criminal trespass and stealing aluminum windows.

The judge, Mr Garba Ogbede, also ordered Zubairu to produce a surety in like sum.

Ogbede said the surety must be at least a Grade Level 5 officer in the Federal Civil Service and must reside within the jurisdiction of the court.

He adjourned hearing in the case till April 19.

Zubairu of Aco Estate, Airport Road, Abuja, was arraigned on a count charge of criminal trespass and theft.

The prosecuting counsel, Mrs Ukoha Ndidi, had informed the court that on March 31, one Eli Ishaya, a security guard attached to Danamite Estate, behind Kuyami Abuja, reported the matter at Iddo Police Station.

Ndidi said that Zubairu criminally trespassed into Danamite Estate and stole aluminum windows, but was caught immediately and handed over to the police for investigation and interrogation.

The prosecutor said the offence contravened Sections 348 and 287 of the Penal Code.

Zubairu, however, pleaded not guilty (NAN)
