Seizure
By Muhammad Nasir Bashir
Dutse, April 10, 2017 (NAN) The Jigawa State Consumer Protection Committee (CPC), said it had confiscated 18 bags of adulterated animal feeds in Malammadori Local Government Area of the state.
The CPC chairman, Alhaji Farouk Abdallah, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Dutse that the items were seized in Garin-Gabas Market, in Garin-Gabas town.
Abdallah said the animal feeds were adulterated with rice husk by a suspected trader, who took to his heels on sighting members of the committee.
He expressed disappointment that people were not mindful of the effects of such adulterated feeds on animals; and by extension on human consumption.
The chairman said, however, that the committee had launched a manhunt for the suspect and that he would be charged to court as soon as he was caught.
Abdallah admonished traders in the state to make the fear of God a cardinal objective in all their dealings. (NAN)
