Ile-Ife  (Osun), April 9, 2017 (NAN) Pastor John Ojo of  Christ Apostolic Church, Iloro Zonal Headquarters, Ile-Ife,  has urged Christians to emulate Christ’s love and  sacrificial nature in  the service of  humanity.

Ojo made the appeal on Sunday in his sermon to commemorate the Palm Sunday celebration.

He said Christ humble himself  on the cross of Calvary and released himself for sacrifice for the salvation of the  world.

The cleric said that Palm Sunday signals  the beginning of the Holy Week,  being the last week of  Lent in the orthodox calendar.

He admonished  Christians  to use the Holy Week for prayers, penance, reflection as well as  spiritual works, saying they  must also shun all acts of   immorality.

The cleric also  urged them to show love and affection to their neighbours facing difficulties.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Christians celebrate  Palm Sunday on  the  Sunday preceding  Easter in remembrance of  Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem. (NAN)
