Ikorodu (Lagos State), April 7, 2017 (NAN) A 45-year-old woman, Kudirat Amzat, has approached an Ikorodu Customary Court, in Lagos State, seeking dissolution of her 26-year-old marriage over alleged lack of care and threat to life with charms.
Amzat, a fruit seller, told the court that her husband was also a drunk, who misbehaves after drinking to stupor.
She also alleged that her husband sold the three motorcycles she bought for him.
” I bought three motorcycles for my husband to make ends meet; he sold all and squandered the money.
“He is also a drunk; he gets home late at nights and makes trouble thereafter. My parents have intervened but he refused to change.
” Last month, I saw charms sprinkled at the entrance of my room; I knew he sprinkled it just to make me leave the house which I built myself.
“I have parked out of the house for now, please separate us, I cannot live with him any longer,” she pleaded with the court.
The 48-year-old trader, Mr Yahaya Amzat, denied the claims of pouring charms, but accepted he was a drunk.
The father of four children also begged the court not to separate them as no woman can love her more than his wife.
President of the Court, Funmi Adeola, examined the alleged charm and said it was “ pieces of wood.’’
She adjourned the case until June 8, for further hearing. (NAN)
