Abuja, April 6, 2017 (NAN) Badminton National Coach, Ibrahim Adamu says he is optimistic that team Nigeria will dominate the All Africa Mixed Team Badminton Championship in South Africa.
Adamu said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Thursday.
He said with the level of preparation so far, the team would perform excellently well in the championship.
NAN reports that the championship is scheduled to hold from April 16 to April 23.
“The training has been very fantastic and I am sure that all the players will do well not just in this tournament but in any other competition.
“The players are ready to represent the country and I am sure that they are going to make Nigeria proud.
“The tournament starts on April 16, we are likely to leave on April 15. We are going with six players, three males and three female,’’ he said.
Adamu said that with the level of preparations the players had undergone, they are good enough to do well in the championship.
NAN reports that 18 players are in camp in preparation for the championship.
NAN also reports that 12 out of the 18 players had left the camp to scout for sponsors to enable them take part in the event. (NAN)
