Katsina CP warns against acts inimical to police reputation

Mai’adua (Katsina State), April 4, 2017 (NAN) The Police Command in Katsina State has warned against acts that could portray its officers and men in bad light.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Alhaji Abdullahi Usman, gave the warning while addressing police officers and men at Mai’adua on Tuesday.
Usman said he would sanction any officer found to have indulged in behaviours that could damage the reputation of the police.
He, however, assured them that their welfare would be taken care of ” to motivate you for effective performance”.
He urged the Mai’adua Local Government to report activities of criminals in the area to police for prompt action.
The commissioner lauded the Federal Government over the recent recruitment of 10,000 policemen which he said would enhance effective policing.
Earlier, the Divisional Police Officer(DPO) in the area, ASP Muhammad Gwarzo, described the local government as one of the most peaceful areas in the state.
He commended the cooperation of the people with the police,saying, “we have minimal crime rate here”.
The sole administrator of the local government, Alhaji Abdu Soro,commended the commissioner for the visit.
Soro, who was represented by the Director, Personnel Management, Malam Alkasim Fago, said the visit would further enhance the existing cordial relationship between the police and the people of the area.
The District Head of Mai’adua ,Malam Ahmed Diddiri, assured the police commissioner of the traditional institution’s collaboration with security agencies in ensuring peace and stability in the area.
The News Agency of Nigeria(NAN )reports that the police commissioner held a meeting with relevant stakeholders on how to enhance security in the area.(NAN)
