VC charges students to be of good conduct

Minna, April 1, 2017 (NAN) The Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Technology , Minna , Prof.  Musbau  Akanji, has charged 1,073 new post-graduate students  for 2017 academic session to be of high moral conduct.

Akanji gave the advice during the 3rd matriculation of postgraduate students at the institution’s Bosso Campus in Minna on Saturday.‎

He said the personality of a person is revealed in his moral conduct,

“I am charging you to be of high moral conduct and desist from any kind of examination misconduct”, he said.

The VC said that the university would not tolerate any act of indiscipline from the students .

He urged them to work hard  in order to achieve their set academic goals.

“Our policy for postgraduate programmes is that any student whose Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA), is below 2.50 and 1.50, respectively for Masters and post graduate diploma , would be withdrawn”, he said

The VC urged the students to participate in student unionism, noting that it fosters social, cultural and academic interaction among students.

Akanji stated that the university’s postgraduate programmes were competitive.

He said that 1, 073 students that met the admissions criteria were admitted out of the 2, 256 candidates that applied, representing 47.6 per cent.

The Registrar, Mrs  Victoria  Kolo, administered the Matriculation Oath on the 1,073 students. (NAN)‎
