Enugu, March 29, 2017 (NAN) No fewer than 30 players of  the Enugu-based Crime Busters FC are to undergo a medical examination in preparation for the 2016/2017 Nigeria Nationwide League One (NNWL – 1) season.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the examination is in compliance with a directive issued by the Board of the NNWL-1 on the standards of the competition.

According to the board, all players must undergo a medical examination.

Team Manager, Ebere Amaraizu, told NAN on Wednesday in Enugu that 30 selected players would undergo the examination which would hold on March 29 and March 30.

Amaraizu said that the examination would take place at the conference room of the Enugu State Police Command Headquarters, from noon to 4.00p.m.

“The exercise will be conducted by an NNWL-1- approved doctor in conjunction with the team’s nurse from the Police Medical Department,’’ he said.

He said that any player found medically wanting would not be registered for the league.

“Such a person will be replaced.

“Medical examination of players is compulsory, and there will be no compromise in order to set the standards right,’’ Amaraizu said.

NAN reports that the NNWL-1 Board insists that only players certified medically fit will participate in the league.

The NNWL-1 League season may start in April. (NAN)
