Abuja, March 27, 2017 (NAN) The Badminton Federation of Nigeria (BFN) on Monday in Abuja said it would begin the second phase of the distribution of equipment to schools across the country in April.

Francis Orbih, Vice-President of the federation, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the federation had started the programme in 2016.

“At the last time, we distributed equipment to two states each in the North West, South West and the North Central zones.

“This time, we are visiting the remaining states in the other three zones in the country.

“We are looking at Bauchi State and Taraba in the North East, Enugu State and Abia in South East and Delta and Akwa Ibom in the South South,’’ he said.

Orbih said the federation would distribute rackets, nets and shuttlecocks to schools in each of the states to be visited and also provide resource persons to train students.

“We want to make it a train-the-trainer programme, so that the game can continue even after the resource persons had gone.

“We hope this will create awareness and get more people interested in the game,’’ he said.(NAN)
