Abuja, March 24, 2017 (NAN) The Badminton Federation of Nigeria (BFN) has nominated its President, Danlami Senchi, for election as the President of Badminton Confederation of Africa (BCA).
Francis Orbih, Vice-President of the federation, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Abuja that Senchi was nominated based on his experience.
“We will have the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the world body in May, in Australia, and at that AGM the continental bodies will elect their presidents and council members.
“So, the BFN board decided to put forward its president to run for the African presidency.
“We are going to reach out to other countries to seek for support because we believe that Nigeria has done a lot for Africa in badminton and it is time for us to take the leadership position,’’ he said.
Orbih expressed the hope that if Senchi emerged president of the African body, he would be able to make policies which would favour Nigeria’s strong participation in the sport.(NAN)
