Lagos, March 23, 2017 (NAN) Seplat led the losers’ chart on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Thursday with a loss of N38.72 to close at N359.28 per share.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Guinness Nigeria trailed with N2.64 to close at N60, followed by Forte Oil having lost 82k to close at N45.59 per share.
Access Bank was down by 22k to close at N5.93, while NASCON declined by 21k to close at N6.91 per share.
Consequently, the All-Share declined marginally by 0.06 points, to close at 25,514.03 compared to 25,514.09 posted at the close of business on Wednesday.
Also, the market capitalisation which opened at N8.827 trillion dipped one billion naira to close at N8.826 trillion.
Nestle recorded the highest gain to lead the gainers’ table, appreciating by N9 to close at N749 per share.
Lafarge Africa followed with a gain of N3.20 to close at N41, while 7UP gained N2.29 to close at N80 per share.
International Breweries appreciated by 30k to close at N15.30, while Guaranty Trust Bank also gained 30k to close at N26.80 per share.
Guaranty Trust Bank emerged the most traded equity with an exchange of 20.54 million shares worth N548.38 million.
It was trailed by Access Bank with 14.80 million shares valued at N88.77 million and United Bank for Africa sold 9.48 million shares worth N50.65 million.
Stanbic IBTC traded 9.26 million shares valued at N166.08 million and Transcorp accounted for 8.56 million shares worth N6.18 million.
Similarly, the volume of shares traded closed lower as investors bought and sold 115.11 million shares valued at N1.42 billion achieved in 2,861 deals.
This was in contrast with a turnover of 198.84 million shares worth N2.53 billion exchanged in 2,306 deals on Wednesday. (NAN) JNC/IFY/EEE
