Council advises SMEs to access CBN’s N220bn loan to enhance economy

Minna, March 22, 2017 (NAN) Small and Medium Scale industries have been urged to access the N220 billion loan facilities provided by Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to improve the country’s economy.

Alhaji Hassan Bala, Zonal Coordinator of Nigeria Export Promotion Council, Minna, told the News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) in Minna on Wednesday that the small scale industries loans could be accessed through Fidelity Bank.

He said that the council would facilitate opportunities for exporters and promote sustainable economic development as the Federal Government was sincere in its diversification policy.

“There are over 100 small scale industries that registered with the council in different partsw of Niger, Kogi, and Kwara states

“We encourage them to set up small scale industries, groups to enable them to access the loans to enhance production of local goods.

He explained that accessing the loans would boost their production capacity and create more jobs for youths in the state.

“I am urging all small scale industries in Niger, Kogi and Kwara states to take advantage of this golden opportunity from the Federal Government to access the N220 billion facility being provided to enhance business activities,” he said

Bala explained that the council would continue to build the capacity of the business community to enhance export entrepreneurship skills.

“A nation’s comparative advantage is not dependent on its natural resources alone, it depends on innovation and the capacity to upgrade its products and services,’’ he explained. (NAN)
