Abuja, March 21, 2017 (NAN) The Badminton Federation of Nigeria (BFN) says 60 players have been invited to camp ahead of Africa Nation’s Cup in South Africa.
Rita Akande, Secretary-General of the federation, spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Tuesday.
According to her, the players will camp at the High Performance Centre of the Abuja National Stadium.
Akande said that the first phase of camping would begin on March 30.
Akande said that the 60 players would comprise 30 males and 30 females.
She said that the nation’s cup slated for Aug. 17 to Aug. 28 in South Africa, would reposition the players for other international competitions.
Akande said the camping would come in three phases depending on the availability of funds.
“The first phase of the camp will open at the end of the month. But the second and third phase will be dependent on the availability of funds.
“The president of the federation and its board members are working hard to source for funds for the camping,’’ she said. (NAN) DE/LAB/EEE
