Lagos, March 19, 2017 (NAN) Mr Niyi Rahman, a hotel operator, on Sunday called for the speedy completion of the ongoing infrastructural projects in Epe to boost tourism and hospitality business in the ancient town.

Rahman, proprietor of Raymond Hotel and Suites, Epe, made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.

He said that the infrastructural projects embarked upon by the Lagos State Government, when completed, would enhance commercial and business activities in the area.

The hotelier listed some of the ongoing projects as the construction of new roads and the upgrading of old ones.

Other ongoing projects, he said,  included the rehabilitation of moribund tourism sites as well as the building of jetties.

According to him, the provision of these basic amenities was a right step in the right direction to boost hospitality and tourism in the area.

“Epe will be a mega city on the completion of the infrastructural projects; the city has been backward among all other divisions in the state.

“It is great pleasure having a government that is interested in the development of the ancient town.

“This development will open a gateway to influx of international tourists into the town.

“The projects, on completion, will boost the economy of the community and increase the revenue base of hospitality and tourism businesses in Epe.
“The projects will boost the internally generated revenue of the state and also hype the tourism profile and image of Lagos State, ‘’he said.

Rahman urged both local and foreign businesses to take advantage of the ongoing development projects to invest in the area. (NAN)
