Bauchi, March 16, 2017 (NAN) Gov. Mohammed Abubakar of Bauchi State has given the management of Wikki Tourists FC April deadline to secure good result in the Nigeria Professional League or be sacked.
The warning is contained in a statement signed by the governor’s Press Secretary, Mr Abubakar Al- Sadique issued in Bauchi on Thursday.
It said that the governor, who gave the matching orders after a meeting with the club’s management, said the team’s recent performance was an embarrassment to the state.
“If by the middle of this season in April I have not seen impressive performance, I will not hesitate to change the management of the team and bring those that are ready to restore the good name of the club,” he was quoted as saying.
Abubakar lamented that the government was providing the club with all the support needed to excel in the elite league, but has so far disappointed its many fans.(NAN)
