Ibadan, March 10, 2017 (NAN) Mr Olusegun Olanipekun, a Nigerian South Africa-based writer, has advocated the need to mobilise spiritual and professionally skilled leaders in the task of nation building.

Olanipekun made the call on Friday in Ibadan at the presentation of his 276-page book titled “Nation Building: Biblical Perspective’’.

Olanipekun, the founder of the Institute for Christian Leadership Development, said that the book was written to urge Christians to be nation builders.

According to him, there are biblical treasures that only believers may discover and use to unlock the destiny of the nation.

He said that African nations needed biblical solutions to the increasing problems of poverty, unemployment, apathy and infrastructure decay, among others.

He said that Nigeria, as a nation, also needed to progress from offering reactionary prayers to constructive engagements and from criticising leaders to raising strong Christian political leaders.

“We need to progress from corrupt, deluded fathers of modern democracies to real fathers who are clothed in Abrahamic Mantles, able to lay solid foundation for the society.’’

He said that the 14 chapter book emphasised the unique role of the Holy Spirit that opposes other spirits which unbelievers might use to influence the nation.

He, however, said that unless believers in Christ Jesus played active role in building the nations, it might continue to be weak, confused and overpowered by evil.

The book reviewer, Mr Kunmi Adedeji, commended the author for writing the book, noting that it was an invitation to every believer to be available and work in the interest of the country.

“This book provides anyone who either has started or is about to start the journey to engage with God on the nation-building assignment,’’ he said. (NAN)
