We did well to overcome fatigue and beat Wikki, Ikhana praises Kano Pillars’ players

Kano, March 8, 2017 (NAN)‎ ‎Kano Pillars Football Club’ Technical Adviser, Kadiri Ikhana, on Wednesday heaped praises on his team for beating visiting Wikki Tourists FC of Bauchi 1-0 in a rescheduled week 8 match.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the match is of the 2016/2017 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) and was played at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.

Ikhana told newsmen after the game that he was very happy with the outcome of the match in spite of the slim win.

“I am happy that the players were able to win the match in spite of fatigue,” he said.

The coach, however, acknowledged that his players made some mistakes which the visiting team could have capitalised upon to turn the table against them.

Kano Pillars’ midfielder Alhassan Ibrahim scored the only goal of the‎ game in the 35th minute directly from a corner kick.

The home side had several goal scoring chances in the first and second halfs, but could not extend their lead, as the visiting side’s defenders  were able to stop them.‎‎‎

Wikki Tourists’ coach Babaganaru Muhammad, on his part told newsmen he was satisfied with the match’s outcome in spite of his team’s defeat.

‎He expressed satisfaction with how his team played, saying “although we lost the match, but I can say that my boys played well.’’(NAN)
