Abuja, March 8, 2017 (NAN) Boyobi Patrick, the Rivers State NYSC volleyball female team coach, Wednesday in Abuja said he was optimistic his team would win the event’s title at the 2017 NYSC Sports Festival.
Patrick told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) his team was well prepared for the competition, which was part of the annual NYSC Sports and Cultural Festival.
NAN reports that the team had defeated hosts FCT to qualify for Friday’s final match at the Abuja National Stadium.
“Our training before the competition gave us a boost and the confidence that we will win.
“We don’t have any fear now for the final match, because the method we are playing is different from that of all the other states.
“We are playing attack, while other states are playing defence.
“The states are not spiking, nor blocking. So, we will use our method to attack and make them lose focus and we will defeat them.
“I have watched their (Kaduna State) game and study how they played. They have only one spiker. So, we will set a good spiker to block their spiker.
“We we go back and do our preparation, and with that I am sure we will win the game,’’ Patrick said.
He however attributed the team’s victory so far in the competition to hard work, commitment and unity of the players.(NAN)
