NYSC Sports Festival: Kaduna beat Sokoto to qualify for volleyball final

Abuja, March 8, 2017 (NAN) Kaduna State NYSC female volleyball team beat their Sokoto state counterparts Wednesday to qualify for the final of the volleyball competition at the 2017 NYSC National Sports and Cultural Festival.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Kaduna state team won in three straight sets in the semi-final match played at the Abuja National Stadium.

Coach Suleiman Hassan of Kaduna state later told NAN he was happy his team won the game which they clearly dominated.

“I feel good and I am very happy. We had a short time of preparation and the girls put in their best today.

“I am proud of them, and I am hopeful of winning again in the finals on Friday,” he said.

Hassan said his team would put in its best to win in the final on Friday.

“There is no team to be underrated, but we will put in our best to win on Friday.

“The way we play will determine who wins the game,” he said.

NAN reports that the first semi-final match saw Rivers defeating FCT 3-0 to qualify for the final of the competition which had 10 states participating.(NAN)
