Lagos, March 6, 2017 (NAN) The League Management Company (LMC) on Monday urged the participants at the ongoing football clinic for the youth team to maximize the benefits of the programme.
The chairman of the LMC, Shehu Dikko, gave the advice in a statement by its Media Officer, Harry Iwuala, in Lagos.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that over 100 coaches including 20 from the NPFL youth clubs and others from the third tier nationwide league are taking part in the clinic.
Iwuala said, “The LMC chairman has urged youth team coaches and the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) attending a clinic in Abuja to make the best out of the workshop which has its resource persons from the Spanish LaLiga.’’
NAN also reports that the clinic is being organised by the LMC in collaboration with the Nigerian office of LaLiga
Dikko said the seminar was an opportunity for those in attendance to learn scouting, coaching and lots more.
“For all of you in attendance, I want to congratulate you and also say that you should not joke with this opportunity.
“I expect that in the nearest future, you should be able to point to some players you had developed, who at the time may be playing abroad or somewhere in the NPFL,’’ Dikko said.
On the quality of the courses, Dikko said that from its course outline, he believed it would be beneficial to the participants.
“When I checked the course outline, I saw that the courses were very rich in content and would be of great benefit to everyone here.
“Going forward, we should be able to learn from here how we should better play our football in Nigeria.
“There is a lot to learn, I must say. So much to be shared from the club level and of course, which should rub off on our national teams too,’’ Dikko said.(NAN)
