Buni Yadi (Yobe), March 3, 2017 (NAN) Kyari Batarama, the Chairman of Gujba Local Government in Yobe, says his council will exploit sports potentials in the Local Government Area (LGA) to promote professionalism and employment.
Batarama told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Buni Yadi that this would help to enhance the LGA’s reconstruction.
He said the return of peace and normalcy in the state had provided opportunity for human and structural reconstruction of the area.
“The council has attached priority attention to sports development, next to agriculture in terms of revenue drive and job-creation.
“The success of Gujba United Football Club at the just-concluded Governor’s Cup football competition, after emerging champions among the 17 LGAs, has given us more confidence to develop sports and football in particular.’’
NAN reports that Gujba LGA was liberated by military authorities from Boko Haram insurgents in 2015.(NAN)
