Cow owner in court for alleged trespass, mischief

Abuja, March 3, 2017 (NAN) A 60-year-old man, Abubakar Adam, was on Friday arraigned in a Kado Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, for alleged criminal trespass and mischief.
The defendant, who resides at Gishiri Mabushi, Abuja, denied committing the offences.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Judith Obatomi told the court that one Mohammed Kabiru, reported the matter at the Mabushi Police Station on Jan. 29.
Obatomi said that the complainant alleged that the defendant’s cow entered his cassava and beans farm, and destroyed farm produce valued at N300, 000.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 348 and 327 of the Penal Code.
The judge, Alhaji Ahmed Ado, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N150, 000 and one surety in like sum and adjourned the case till April 5 for further hearing. (NAN)
