Police arraign Man for alleged theft

Lagos, March 2, 2017 (NAN) A 20-year-old man, Mustafa Musa, on Thursday appeared in an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly breaking into a shop and stealing building materials worth N10,000.
Musa, who is facing a two-count charge of burglary and stealing, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Eruada Victor, said that the accused, and another now at large, committed the offences on Feb. 22 at Benbis Road, Baruwa, Ipaja, a Lagos suburb.
He said that the accused broke into the shop of the complainant, Adekagun Adebisi, and stole two bags of nails valued N8,000 and taps head valued N2,000.
He said that the complainant was informed that Musa stole the items and was caught.
The prosecutor said the offences contravened sections 307 and 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The Magistrate, Mr G.O. Anifowoshe, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N5, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
Anifowoshe said the sureties must be gainfully employed and must show evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
He adjourned the case till March 15 for mention. (NAN)
