Abuja, Feb. 23, 2017 (NAN) The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted dust haze conditions with visibility of 2000m to 5000m over the central states of the country on Friday.
NiMet gave the prediction in its Weather Outlook by the Central Forecast Office on Thursday in Abuja.
It also predicted that the central states would have day and night temperatures of 18 to 38 and 14 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.
NiMet predicted that southern states would experience partly cloudy conditions over inland cities and cloudy morning over the entire coast.
It also predicted prospects of localised thunderstorms over Calabar, Uyo, Port Harcourt, Yenegoa and Lagos later in the day with day and night temperatures of 32 to 38 and 19 to 27 degrees Celsius respectively.
According to NiMet, northern states will experience dust haze conditions with visibility of about 2000m to 5000m with day and night temperatures of 31 to 38 and 16 to 22 degrees respectively.
It added that places like Yelwa, Bida, Kano and Maiduguri were likely to have visibilities of less than or equal to 1000m in the next 24 hours.
“Dust haze conditions are expected over most parts of the country, while the coast has prospects of thunderstorms in the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted. (NAN)
