Stealing
Asaba, Feb. 23, 2017 (NAN) An Asaba Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, arraigned one Joshua Akeaze, 22, for stealing a Tricycle valued at N680,000.
Akeaze was alleged to have stolen a TVS Tricycle with Registration number URU 109, valued for N680, 000, property of one Mr Chiedu Ntoka.
The prosecutor, Ndidi Ahmafuna, told the court that the accused committed the offence on the Feb. 19, 2017 opposite Osadennis junction Asaba.
She said that the offence was punishable under Section 390(9) and 516 of the Criminal Code Law Cap C21 Vol 1, Laws of Delta State of Nigeria 2006.
The accused pleaded not guilty and he was granted bail in the sum of N150, 000 and a surety in like sum.
The Magistrate, Mrs Okonkwo Akanume, ordered that the surety must be a civil servant and should reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
She said that the surety must have a landed property in the state capital and should also provide two passport photographs.
The case had been adjourned to Feb. 27, 2017 for further hearing. (NAN)
