Tenure
By Abdulfatai Beki
Ilorin, Feb. 21, 2017 (NAN) The Kwara House of Assembly on Tuesday extended the tenure of the Transition Implementation Committees (TICs) of the 16 local government areas in the state by another three months.
This was sequel to a message sent to the lawmakers by Gov. Abdulfatah Ahmed and read on the floor by the Speaker, Dr Ali Ahmad.
In the message, the governor said the request for extension was to ensure continuity of the administration pending the conduct of elections into the local government councils.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Transition Implementation Committees were inaugurated on Nov. 19, 2016 for a period of three months.
NAN reports that the three-month period lapsed on Feb. 19. (NAN)
