Commitment
Bonn (Germany), Feb. 16, 2017 (dpa/NAN) German Foreign Minister, Sigmar Gabriel, has called on China to demonstrate its commitment to opening up its markets.
Gabriel’s call followed a meeting with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, on Thursday.
Speaking on the margins of the G20′ meeting, Gabriel told Wang “that China was also underpinned by strong signals for an equal treatment of foreign companies in China e.g. in the area of electromobility.
It was Gabriel’s first meeting with Wang since the German vice-chancellor took over last month as the foreign minister of Europe’s biggest economy.
Gabriel is hosting the G20 foreign ministers’ meeting in the old capital of Bonn.
The German foreign minister said Germany also wanted to work more closely with China in addressing climate protection after China dropped its original scepticism and backed efforts to address global warming.(dpa/NAN)
