Court remands 2 men in prison for alleged housebreaking

Ile-Ife (Osun), Feb 16, 2017 (NAN) An Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court on Thursday remanded two persons, Mattew Omoniyi,18 and Seun Oladipupo, 25, in prison for alleged housebreaking and stealing.

The Prosecutor, Insp.Monday Ojiezele, told the court that the accused persons on Jan 31. at Duduyemi Str., Afeki-Opa Area, Ile-Ife, conspired among themselves to commit felony.

Ojiezele said that they entered the resident of Morufu Adetona and stole  his home theatre, two wrist watches, ring and one cell phone  all  value N100, 000.

He said the offence contravened Section: 383 (1) and punishable under sections 390 (9), 411, 412 and 416 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol 11, Laws of Osun, 2002.

The plea of the accused persons was not taken by Magistrate Dorcas Ajiboye.

Ajiboye ordered that the defendants should be remanded in prison to serve as deterrent to others, and adjourned the cases till March 10, for further hearing. (NAN
