Lagos, Feb. 15, 2017 (NAN) A teenage boy, Olarenwaju Abayomi, who allegedly broke into a house and stole two generators worth N70,000, was on Wednesday charged before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.
Abayomi 18, who lives at Oko-Oba, a suburb of Lagos, pleaded not guilty to a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing.
Police Prosecutor Victor Eruada told the court that the accused with others still at large committed the offences on Feb. 12 at Akowonjo area of Lagos.
According to him, the accused broke into the residence of the complainant, Mr Okoh Anthony through the fence and stole two Tiger generators.
He said it was co-tenants who helped to arrest the accused.
Thee offences contravened Sections 285 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Section 285 stipulates three years for stealing, while Section 409 provides a two-year jail term for conspiracy.
Magistrate G.O. Anifowoshe granted the accused bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case to March 8 for mention. (NAN)
