Minna, Feb. 14, 2017 (NAN)  Alhaji Abdullahi Na’uara, a Vice Chairman, National Union of Road Transport Workers ( NURTW), Minna, on Tuesday called on contractors handling the reconstruction of Minna-Suleja road to work within specification and complete the project on schedule.

Na’uara told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna that the advice was necessary in view of the importance of the project to the socio-economic development of the area and the people.

He advised the firm, Salim Nigeria limited, to mobilise more equipment to the site to ensure qualitative job and early completion.

He said that the road users had encountered too much hardships due to the dilapidated road.

“The rainy season is fast approaching, hence the need for the contractor to put more effort in ensuring completion of the projects.”

Na’uara said that the road had been a death trap as several accidents claimed lives due to its poor condition.

NAN reports that a fortnight ago, work resumed on the dilapidated road after the firm suspended the work due to paucity of funds.

A NAN Correspondent, who visited the site, reported that workers, under the supervision of engineers, were clearing the roadside bush for expansion while others were mobilising tools to site.(NAN)
