The suspension of the high chief, NAN gathered, might not be unconnected with the recent death of a woman who allegedly died in the custody of the high chief under mysterious circumstance.
She was said to have been referred to Popoola when she took ill and had made shocking revelations against the chief before she died.
The victim’s death was said to have arose spontaneous reactions from the people, leading to the burning of Popoola’s houses in the community.
A senior police officer in Odo-Owa Police Command, who preferred anonymity, told NAN that the case file has been transferred to the State Police Headquarters, Ilorin, where the suspect was being interrogated.
The police spokesman in the state, Mr Ajayi Okasanmi, however, said he was still awaiting briefing on the development. (NAN)
