Jos, Feb. 9, 2017 (NAN) The Plateau office of the NYSC says it has initiated a partnership with Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), toward quality healthcare for corps members at the orientation camp.

The Coordinator, Mrs. Olufumilayo Akin-Moses, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Jos on Thursday that the camp also had a quality clinic that runs 24-hour services.

“The camp clinic has doctors, nurses, pharmacists and medical laboratory scientists drawn from among corps members.

“The clinic also has a functional medical laboratory where diagnostic services are provided, in addition to a pharmacy stocked with basic drugs,” she said.

The official said that cases beyond the camp clinic were usually referred to JUTH for effective treatment and management as part of the working agreement.

“We have an ambulance that is always ready for emergency referrals; you can see that our commitment to corps members’ health is total,” she said.

Akin-Moses said that the camp was fumigated to rid it of snake and scorpions before the orientation exercise began. (NAN)
