NiMet predicts dust haze, partly cloudy weather on Tuesday –

Abuja, Feb. 6, 2017 (NAN) The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted dust haze weather conditions with visibility range of two to five kilometers over the central states of the country on Tuesday.

The prediction was made by NiMet’s Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Monday.

It added that the region would have day and night temperature of 29 to 37 degrees Celsius and 12 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.

The agency also predicted that the Southern states would experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions over the inland and coastal cities during the forecast period. It also predicted isolated rain showers over Yenegoa, Port-Harcourt, Eket and Calabar during afternoon and evening hours with day and night temperatures of 34 to 35 and 20 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.

According to NiMet, northern states will experience thick dust haze conditions with visibility range of two to five kilometers and less than 1000m over Kano, Dutse, Nguru, Maiduguri, Damaturu, Gombe, Potiskum and Yola.

“The northern region will also have day and night temperatures of 30 to 34 and 12 to 20 degrees Celsius respectively.

“Thick dust haze conditions are expected over the northeastern cities of the country in the next 24 hours,’’ NiMet predicted. (NAN)
